Worship (11 AM)
  • Worship is the heartbeat of everything we do at Hemphill First United Methodist Church.  We offer our gifts, talents, and service to the Lord and strive to grow in our Christian faith.
  • A typical Sunday morning worship service is guided by God's Word. Services includes; a greeting and opening prayer, singing, Bible readings, silent prayer and meditation, an offering, the Lord's Prayer, a children's message, a thought provoking sermon, and a closing prayer. You will be guided through the service by an easy to follow bulletin.
  • Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month. As United Methodists, we celebrate an "Open Table." Regardless of your faith background, age, or anything else, you are welcome to participate in communion.
What if I don't regularly attend church?
  • That's OK. We seek to create a welcoming environment for those who are curious about God, but have never felt comfortable in church. We want to be a place where you can learn, apply, and wrestle with who God is and what He wants for you. All of us are still growing in faith and searching for guidance.
Can I invite my friends?
  • Please do. We do our best to provide a warm and welcoming environment for people who are curious about Christianity or who are looking to belong to a community of Christ-followers.

Will I be expected to give money?
  • During our worship service members of our church give to support our ministries. As our guest, please do not feel obligated to do this. This is for those that call Hemphill First United Methodist Church their home church.

Come As You Are
  • We dress comfortably. We are just as likely to be wearing suits and jackets as we are to wear jeans. Please wear what's comfortable. We do.
